Stuff On My Mind

Tonight is Friday.

What that means is that tonight after our little girl has gone to bed I allow myself enough alcohol to get a buzz. I haven't brewed a batch of beer since we moved in (even though I have a kit in the fridge) so I've been mixing raspberry drink mix with vodka and sipping the result through a straw.

I use our kitchen scale to measure the amounts of raspberry drink and vodka precisely. My first drink was 8oz of raspberry to 2oz of vodka. My second drink was 10oz of raspberry to 2oz of vodka. The second drink tasted better.

I am reading datasheets for an LCD driver chip. The datasheets were originally written in japanese and translated to english by what I assume to be a native japanese speaker. Compound the confusion with the fact that the company designed the chip... obtusely. It simultaneously does too many things and not enough at the same time. The result is one unintelligible piece of documentation. I thought being buzzed might help me understand the datasheet. Nope. Still confusing as hell.

My wife and I were experimenting with ekiga, "...a free Voice over IP, IP Telephony and Video-Conferencing application" today. It works okay. I never realised how much of a dork I look like until I saw what my camera was picking up and sending to my wife. Oh well.

My wife got a Netflix account. I have been watching a metric buttload of anime. Very fun stuff.

I've recently scored a free 120VDC 2.5HP motor from a treadmill someone left on their curb.

I've also taught my daughter that farts are funny and to clap when she lets one go.
