What A Zoo

When we bought the house Chickpea's room came with some odd blue and white seventies carpet glued to the floor. I decided I'd rather have the multicolored locking foam tiles on the floor - mainly because my parents would never buy any for my wood floors in my childhood bedroom. Besides that, how cool is it to have a room that you can do gymnastics in without cracking your skull open?

I'm finally getting around to trimming up the tiles at the walls. Naturally, I have Chickpea in the room with me so I can keep an eye on her while I work. She's great. I try to cut a tile and she grabs for my utility knife. I put a tile down to gauge how much to trim off and she crawls up and sits in the middle of it. Meanwhile, the cats are deciding it's happy fun time and are batting at each other through the crib slats, chewing on curtain pulls and committing other assorted feline asshattery. A job that would take maybe two hours has now turned into days.

All I can do is sigh, push a cat out of the way, lift a kid out of the way, push another cat out of the way and try to remember what I was doing before I was moving critters.
